There are a number of simple things anyone can do to help maximise their properties potential when selling –
- Give the house a thorough spring clean, inside and out. Make sure to get behind furniture, around skirting boards and cornices, as well as ceiling fans and light fittings. Give the outside of the house a scrub and hose down. Getting a pest spray done both inside and out after this will help keep the dreaded cobwebs at bay too.
- Give gardens a weed and maybe a light mulch. Keep the lawns mown and maybe add some strategically placed potted colour to brighten things up. The great thing about pots is you can take them with you when you’ve sold!
- De-clutter! This makes your property feel as spacious as it can be and also makes it much easier and faster for you to do a tidy up before an inspection.
- If your handy there are probably many little things you can do without spending much money. A paint touch up here or there, re meshing a torn flyscreen etc. Try to take a look at your property through a prospective purchases eyes.
